In 2003, the District of Columbia City Council passed the Streamlining Regulation Emergency Act, an
emergency legislation that modified the existing Master Business Licensing and Registration (MBLR) program by eliminating the need for some DC businesses to register for business licenses. The legislation essentially changed the MBLR program to the Basic Business License (BBL) program.
DC Public Charter Schools

DC OneApp
The OneApp project integrated three large SEO data management and processing applications into a single
system. LEAP, DCTAG and DCAdoption are applications that capture and store a significant amount of data
for District high school students. The applications were written in different languages and each served as a
stand-alone application.
Discovery Education
Portals have become an essential business tool for government, commercial and education organizations. Discovery Education creates online and digital media in various subject areas for more thousands of schools

DC Permit Wizard Kiosk
DCRA needed a new online system to allow District Homeowners to obtain permit information and the correct forms for construction permits. The system needed to work from a touch-screen appliance and produce pre-populated permit forms based on user input and data from various DC data sources. Finally, the Permit Wizard station needed to be available at kiosks/terminals throughout DCRA Homeowner Centers.
Prince William County Public Schools
Prince William County Public Schools (PWCPS) is the recipient of the Medallion of Excellence, a U.S. Senate
Productivity and Quality Award (SPQA). As the third largest public school district in Virginia, PWCPS
employs nearly 4,500 teachers. Productivity and quality are important elements in the way the county
does business. Therefore, the school system wanted to adopt an online tool to assist PWCPS Human
Resources with teacher orientation, and to free up time for county personnel to do more strategic and
mission critical work.
Prince William Network - GeoConnects
Prince William Network (PWNet) is the award-winning distance-learning arm of Prince William County
Public Schools. It is the result of teachers and school media professionals cooperating to provide high level
